Learn about our mission, vision, and dedication to spiritual growth.
God-Pleasing Church is a Christ-centered, Spirit-led community in the greater Savannah area where people from all walks of life are invited to encounter the transforming love of God, grow in faith, and discover their true purpose in Him; while many of our members have Korean roots, we are a church for everyone—united not by culture, but by Christ—as we journey together in faith, seeking personal renewal and meaningful impact in our local community through the gospel, with hearts set on becoming more like Christ and living lives that are truly pleasing to Him.
Pastor Robin Kim, with years of experience in Youth, College, and Young Adults ministry, envisions the next generation discovering their identity in faith and growing into influential leaders—not only in their local communities but also across the U.S. and the world. He is committed to reaching out to young people first, ensuring they are not outsiders in the church but active participants in ministry. Through systematic training and leadership development, he seeks to cultivate a strong and engaged young community at the heart of the church’s mission.
God-Pleasing Church carries a Spirit‑given burden for the suffering people of North Korea—those living without freedom, human rights, or access to the gospel. In obedience to this calling, we seek to help believers and churches in the Savannah area understand the spiritual and humanitarian reality of North Korea, inviting them to join us in united prayer, intercession, and partnership in God’s greater mission for healing, freedom, and future revival. We also care deeply for North Korean brothers and sisters who have fled the regime, praying for their protection, healing, and restoration as they seek freedom and a new life.
Especially as a Christian community living in the end times, 'God-Pleasing Church' seeks to awaken spiritually dying and misguided believers. We strive to interpret and understand events unfolding across all areas of society through a biblical perspective, preparing for the return of the Lord. Our mission is to be a strong faith community committed to this calling.
With years of experience in English worship ministry, Pastor Robin Kim leads weekly services for English-speaking Koreans, local Asian Americans, and beyond—to reach the broader American community. He envisions building a faith community that brings the good influence of Jesus to this nation.
God Pleasing Church is affiliated with the Association of Evangelical Gospel Assemblies (AEGA), a global fellowship of churches and ministers committed to biblical truth, spiritual accountability, and the Great Commission. Founded in 1976, AEGA equips and supports ministries around the world through prayer, education, and partnership. We are honored to walk in fellowship with AEGA as we pursue God’s calling in the Savannah area.
We don’t compromise—we cling to what is true.
We boldly proclaim the gospel of the cross—not a feel-good version of Christ shaped around human desires. Our message is not about enhancing self-esteem or achieving personal goals. It’s about surrender, repentance, and dying to self. True transformation comes when we are crucified with Christ and raised into new life—not when we try to fit Jesus into our preferences.
In a culture obsessed with prosperity and success, we preach a gospel that prioritizes holiness and eternity. Faith isn’t a formula to unlock material blessings—it’s the path to eternal life and right standing before God. Jesus didn’t go to the cross to boost our bank accounts; He went to make us righteous before a holy God.
We speak plainly about eternal realities. Hell is not a metaphor, and judgment is not optional. Out of love and reverence for God, we preach the full counsel of Scripture—both the hope of salvation and the warning of wrath. The gospel is urgent because eternity is real.
Holiness is not outdated, and sin is not entertainment. God calls His people to live set-apart lives—not conformed to the world, but transformed by His Spirit. We refuse to downplay sin or excuse compromise in the name of relevance. Instead, we pursue purity, reverence, and the fruit of righteousness.
Worship isn’t about style, performance, or personal preference. It’s about God. Our services are marked by reverence, Scripture-saturated songs, and hearts that long for His glory—not applause. We gather to honor Him, to be shaped by truth, and to respond in awe to His presence.
We don’t pretend evil is merely symbolic or abstract—we name our enemy clearly: the devil, Satan. He is real, active, and strategic in his opposition to God’s people. But we are not defenseless. Through Scripture, prayer, and the armor of God, we are equipped to stand firm, resist his schemes, and guard what matters most: our faith, our families, and our calling. At this church, we train to fight the good fight—not passively, but spiritually alert.
We are called to see the world through God’s lens, not through cultural filters. In an age of misinformation, moral compromise, and political tension, we preach a gospel that gives spiritual discernment. Our goal isn’t to be politically correct—it’s to be biblically faithful. We help believers understand world events, ideologies, and cultural shifts through the truth of Scripture—so they won’t just react, but respond with wisdom, courage, and clarity.

During his college years, Robin Kim encountered the Lord through Campus Crusade for Christ (now Cru) and served as a small group leader. In his senior year, he sensed God’s call to ministry following the sudden passing of his father—a moment that awakened in him a desire to pursue what truly mattered for eternity. However, after graduation, he became deeply immersed in his English education business and spent nearly seven years running from that call, believing he could support the Kingdom financially instead. In 2007, a serious bicycle accident that fractured his left upper arm became a decisive turning point through which the Lord redirected his path. In 2008, Robin finally surrendered to God’s call and enrolled at Torch Trinity Seminary in Seoul, South Korea, where he actively served in worship and children’s ministries at Seoul Onnuri Church (EM), VCF (EM), and the Burning Lamp Ministry (EM).
In 2011, Robin moved to the United States and completed both a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) and a Master’s degree in Counseling at Biblical Seminary in Pennsylvania. While pursuing his degrees, he gained diverse ministry and counseling experience across the greater Philadelphia area—serving as Youth Pastor at Korean Peniel Church (2011–2012), Associate Pastor and Youth Pastor at Korean Edification Church (2012–2014), and Chaplain Intern at Elm Terrace Gardens (2014–2015). From 2015 to 2016, he continued in senior care ministry as Pastoral Care Assistant at Living Branches, while also working as a Counselor Intern at Souderton Vantage Academy, where he supported teenagers through therapeutic, psychological, and emotional care. From 2015 to 2020, Robin served as the College and Young Adult Pastor at Bethel Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia, followed by his role as Youth Pastor at Ambler Presbyterian Church (2020–2021).
Robin served as a U.S. Army Chaplain from October 2019 to June 2025, faithfully ministering to young American Soldiers and their families with gospel-centered counsel and spiritual care. His heart was to serve the military community with compassion and truth—for the glory of God and the advance of His Kingdom. During this season, God stirred in him a vision for church planting, which he has pursued through prayerful discernment and preparation. Since relocating to Georgia due to military service, Robin has continued to proclaim God’s Word as a guest preaching pastor at local congregations, including Savannah First Korean Presbyterian Church (2021–2024), The First Korean Baptist Church of Hinesville (2025) and Open Korean Presbyterian Church of Hinesville (2025). He currently serves as the pastor of God-Pleasing Church (launched in November 2025), embracing this new season with gratitude and expectation for God’s work. In addition, he started serving as an ESL instructor at Savannah Technical College in January 2026, where he teaches and empowers adult English learners.
As a teenager, Hannah Kim immigrated to Philadelphia, U.S., and later earned a Master’s degree in Education from Temple University (PA). She then moved to Korea, where she taught English for many years at universities and Jeongsang Language Institute. While training at YWAM’s University of the Nations in Hawaii, she completed DTS (Discipleship Training School), Biblical Counseling School, and School of Biblical Studies. Through these life-shaping experiences, she received a clear calling for counseling ministry. Following this, she returned to the U.S. and pursued Counseling studies at Biblical Seminary (PA), serving as a Youth Pastor at local churches during her time in seminary.
After graduating, Hannah began her ministry as a professional counselor. With over 12 years of experience as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in both Philadelphia and Georgia, she specializes in counseling children and adolescents with compassion and clinical insight. Currently, she is faithfully following God’s calling by planting a church alongside Pastor Robin Kim—stepping into a new season of ministry with joy and expectancy.

A brief call for believers in Savannah to understand North Korea’s suffering and join in prayer for freedom and revival.
Why North Korea?
North Korea remains one of the most closed and persecuted nations in the world. Millions live without basic human rights, freedom of belief, or access to the gospel. Countless believers suffer imprisonment, torture, and death for their faith. This is not distant news—it is a present, ongoing humanitarian and spiritual crisis. As followers of Christ, we are called to see, to understand, and to respond with compassion and truth.
The Reality of Persecution
In North Korea, Christianity is considered a threat to the regime. Believers worship in secret, families are torn apart, and entire generations grow up without ever hearing the name of Jesus. Many risk their lives to escape, and many more perish in the attempt. These are our brothers and sisters who flee in search of true freedom. Their suffering calls us to prayer, awareness, and faithful intercession.
Our Calling as a Church
God-Pleasing Church believes this burden is not for us alone. We are called to awaken local churches in the Savannah area—to help believers understand what is truly happening in North Korea and to join together in prayer for God’s justice, mercy, and restoration. We long to see the body of Christ in Savannah rise with one heart for the people of North Korea, standing in unity for healing, freedom, and future revival. We are now preparing to launch this prayer movement in our region, inviting churches and believers to join us in this God‑given mission.
Partnership with Esther Prayer Movement
We are honored to partner with the Esther Prayer Movement, a ministry committed to prayer, intercession, and raising awareness of North Korean human rights. Their mission includes uniting Korean diaspora churches across all 50 states, awakening American churches to pray for North Korea, supporting defectors, advocating for justice, and preparing for the rebuilding and evangelization of North Korea after unification. Through this partnership, we join a nationwide movement of prayer and hope.
Joining the Prayer Movement
God-Pleasing Church is not merely preparing for this prayer movement — we are already participating in it. We believe God is calling us to stand at the forefront of awakening, uniting believers and churches to pray for North Korea with clarity, compassion, and spiritual urgency. This weekly prayer gathering has already begun. We are meeting with local believers who share the same vision and passion for this movement. Every Saturday, we gather near the Forsyth Park fountain in Savannah at 10 AM to pray, discern, and build together the foundation of this prayer movement. Time: Every Saturday, 10 AM near the Forsyth Park fountain, Savannah
How to Get Involved
You can join this mission through: * Prayer — personally, in small groups, or with your church * Awareness — learning and sharing the truth about North Korea * Intercession gatherings — joining our weekly prayer meetings * Partnership — inviting your church to stand with us in united prayer * Support — encouraging ministries that help North Korean defectors Together, we believe God will bring healing, freedom, and revival to the Korean peninsula.
